Just Help is the story of Together with Families—told by parents and youth who lived through the foster care system and are now leading the path toward a better way to care for families.
Their stories are bold, raw, and real—and they will change how you see everything.

We prevent the trauma of family separation caused by a crisis of poverty by connecting underserved families with personalized support, partnering with those who have shared experiences, and building a loving, supportive community.

Our Apprentices
Apprenticeship Program: From Lived Experience to Leadership
Our paid, 9-month Apprenticeship Training Program equips parents and youth with lived experience in poverty or the child welfare system with real-world, transferable skills. Built with our apprentices, the curriculum covers workforce readiness, peer support, mental health and wellness, navigation of resources and legal and government systems, and other key protective factors.
After completing the training, second-year apprentices can join our team in paid roles—like Development, Executive, or Peer Support Apprentice—and continue building leadership and career pathways while working in our Design Team, shaping the programs they once needed.

“I came to Together with Families during one of the hardest times in my life. They didn’t just support me—they saw me. I started as a parent in the program, later helped design the programs as part of the Design Team, and now I serve on the Board. Now I get to help build the very organization that helped keep my family together. I get to be the person I once needed and that is worth everything.”
